Each year the club has one guaranteed place in the London Marathon.
Club members can apply to the Management Committee for the place if they are unsuccessful in the public race ballot. This year the athlete chosen to represent the club was Behrooz Moniri.
He completed the course in a time of 3 hours and 13 minutes, although he felt that he did not do himself justice. Behrooz enjoyed the day and said “I think I over-trained and was run-down by the time I started so I only managed 3 hours and 13 minutes, but I am happy with my result and would do it all over again!”
Club members who do not secure a place via the race ballot are encouraged to apply to the Management Committee for selection as the club’s guaranteed entrant. An email will be sent out before Christmas each year to all athletes.
